Hi beauties! Today I have a review for The Plot Twist by Eleanor Goymer (Thank you @One More Chapter and @HarperCollins for the book). I gave this one 4 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) stars! - - - REVIEW This was a cute rom-com! The premise is so fun. Two authors facing immense writers block decide to “switch” plot ideas for their next books. The star of the book was the two authors, Allie and Martin, and their writing relationship and friendship. I love that an old male crime author can become friends with a young female romance author. They don’t have much in common besides being writers, so it was interesting to see them develop a friendship. I also liked Martin’s wife and how he was trying so hard to rekindle his marriage with her. The book is a little light on the actual romance between Allie and Will. Allie and Will’s romantic relationship took a backseat to Allie and Martin’s writing relationship. While I would have liked to have seen more of Will, the core of the story is centered on Allie writing a book, so I didn’t mind the heavy emphasis on writing. As for the rest of the supporting characters, I loved Jess, Allie’s best friend, and Verity, Allie’s editor. The story also provided an inside look into the publishing industry and gave a glimpse into how books are published. I really enjoyed that aspect. Overall, if you’re looking for a sweet romance that also features an unconventional friendship, check this one out! - - - QOTD: If you were to write a book, what genre would it be? - - - #book #BookTok #bookreview #romcom #romance #contemporaryromance #harpercollins
