@foryoujakarta: On August 28, 2025, thousands of workers across Indonesia, led by the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) and the Labor Party, staged a nationwide demonstration called “HOSTUM” (Abolish Outsourcing, Reject Low Wages). The protests, centered in Jakarta at the DPR RI Building and originally planned near the Presidential Palace, involved around 10,000 workers from Jabodetabek and others in 38 provinces. The workers demanded six key issues: abolishing outsourcing, rejecting low wages with a proposed 8.5–10.5% minimum wage increase for 2026, halting mass layoffs, tax reforms, passing a new labor law without Omnibus Law, and revising the Election Law for 2029. The demonstrations were planned to be peaceful, focusing on workers’ rights and economic justice.
