This is definitely my most personal video yet. I went back and forth on how much I wanted to show, but ultimately this isn’t about me, it’s about raising awareness about a condition that affects 1 in 10 women out there: endometriosis. I felt like something was just wrong with me or I had terrible pain tolerance for years because of my brutal period pains. But last November when the pain didn’t stop and got worse and worse after my period was over, I knew something was wrong. I was researching a story about the ROSE study last April & actually did an initial interview with Dr. Metz over my spotty wifi. Then when I got my diagnosis a few months later (funny how life works right?), one of the first people I told was Dr. Metz I emailed her about what happened & asked her how I can enroll in the study. I had already decided I was going to get surgery. So, I thought, “If I’m going to do this thing, I’m going to make sure it’s worth while and hopefully help other people.” This last year and honestly the years leading up to this have been..tough. The exhaustion, anxiety, terrible brain fog, having weird unexplainable pains in my body, gut issues & just overall not feeling in control of my body was an emotional, mental and physical rollercoaster I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’m so thankful for my husband, family and friends who have been with me every step of the way in this healing process & it’s been a real privilege and honor to work on this video for you all. I really hope it brings answers and hope to the millions of other women who are suffering in silence 💛 100% of the money made from the YT video will be donated directly to both @Endometriosis Found of America and the ROSE Study.
