I wanted to help out anyone who’s just been diagnosed and is struggling as I could have used this at the beginning - I got diagnosed with GHSV1 at the beginning of this year and really struggled with my self esteem, worried about dating, etc. I had pretty frequent outbreaks for the first 5-6 months but after a while I started dating again. not a single guy had an issue with it after I disclosed. I was back on the apps for about 2 weeks before I found my lovely boyfriend. I disclosed to him and he said ‘so you have something 90% of people have? I don’t care I’m surprised you even told me’ we’ve been together for a while now and I don’t even think about the fact that I have herpes! Please just know that it gets better and it REALLY isn’t a big deal at all ❤️❤️❤

Is it considered a constant outbreak if I have prodorm symptoms? It might just be anxiety because I just got diagnosed but as soon as I feel something I get scared lol!

my first outbreak was horrible. so painful and awful. for a really long time I got them every time I got my period. I was on daily antivirals for a while too because I had them so frequently. I've got them in different places too over the years.

I had a girlfriend who got herpes in high school and she said it was extremely painful and that she had multiple sores down there and it was confirmed by the doctor it was herpes. She said she had a hard time even just sitting down, but unfortunately, she wasn’t one of the people that shared her story with any of her companions. She never told anybody and she had unprotected sex on very many many many occasions I just shook my head, no longer her friend obviously.

I get oral blisters, mostly on my lips but it has spread quite uncomfortably on my tongue and oranges cause bad flare ups 😞

In college, my roommate got herpes from a girl named Dianna. She gave it to at least 36 other guys. She knew she had it, and never told any of them beforehand. 🙄
