This is not a engineering problem. This is because of the extreme EPA requirements. Automotive manufacturers are being forced to eliminate very reliable engine & transmission designs because they don't meet the ever increasing EPA standards

do you know how marble and granite is cut when mined? high pressure water. do you know what happens when a head gasket fails? this.

Yes, drove it too long with blown headgasket. Ford tech here, we have seen it too. Borderline neglect if they are under powertrain warranty.

ive limped along for months running on a blown headgasket. When had the money and time to repair it didnt find cutouts like that. Im thinking blown headgasket but more than just gas was getting burnt in there. like nitrous.

It’s actually common on these, if I remember right they made the cylinders rlly close together on the ecoboost to save materials and they just crack
