3 years ago I finally made the choice to choose myself. It was the year I finally set the boundary with my past toxic relationship that I was never coming back. That I was done begging, I was done not seeing my worth, I was done chasing someone who didn’t care to be caught. It was the year I started gaining more weight, and finally not allowing the number on the scale to dictate my worth. It was the year I started focusing on how I FELT over what size my clothes were. It was the year I realized I didn’t want to live my life in fear of food or experiences just so I could be a certain body fat percentage. It was the year where I learned to never take all the things my body can do for me for granted, to be so gracious that this is my home and it fights for me everyday. The girl I was 3 years ago would never believe I’m engaged, have a healthy relationship with training and food, and she would be in shock I’ve been out of the gym for a MONTH currently and I have not freaked out😂 But she would be so proud, as that is everything she was working towards. Having pain in your back with glute bias back extensions?! Let’s walk through some reasons why you could be⬇️ Let’s talk about the set up: we want to make sure the pad is right below the hip bone so our back isn’t bending over the pad to achieve a greater range of motion. You should be able to rock them hips freely-if you are too short you can use plates to lift you up or an alternative machine option such as the smith machine. We want to make sure you are staying in your active range of motion: aka we aren’t going too HIGH taking the tension off your glutes and putting a lot of stress in your lower back, and we want to make sure you aren’t going too low in the movement past where your glutes fully lengthen. Find your personal sweet spot, FEEL your glutes and maintain tension in them. Mine personally looks like just going halfway down. Lastly, make sure your pelvis is tucked pressing AGAINST the pad thrusting into it as we come up. Our core is engaged and our upper body, we aren’t just swinging that shit Willy nilly.
