I do think there's some spiritual aspect to our existence (that could be scientifically explained eventually) but no current religion or human capacity can fully explain or understand it. So therefore I will ponder and nothing more.

i disagree, I think it's the other way round - the majority are religious for tradition and community and that's why they're so filled with hate. it's communal. look at Christian nationalism, literally NOT Christian in its values, and is decidedly political. that's a community thing not an individual thing. spirituality is meant to be individual, and profound. when it sits on the surface level of being social and traditional, it's worse than meaningless.

Gods were created to take the blame for the things we could not explain. As science progresses and explains more, we need gods less. Maybe one day, the people who use religion as a crutch and a weapon can grow up enough to do good things because they are the right thing to do. Not because a sky Daddy commands it.
