Mark Stroh arrived at the Foreign Ministry just hours after Denmark's public broadcaster said that three Americans, all with ties to the Trump administration, have been working to whip up opposition to Danish rule in Greenland. The report did not name the Americans. President Trump has said he wants to control the mineral-rich island, which is a semiautonomous territory of Denmark. This has been going on so long. Leave Greenland alone. 1867: Right after the U.S. purchased Alaska from Russia, Secretary of State William H. Seward (the same guy who negotiated Alaska) looked into buying Greenland and Iceland from Denmark. Nothing came of it.
