I try to bring this up at my work at least once a year.... we are wasting paper. we are wasting time... the kids that are going to do it don't need to do it cuz they already understand because I have parental help at home.,. it's silly

THIS. I only assign homework when they're finishing something they ran out of time for in class and, even then, I tell them they can bring it out for help the next day instead.

Agreed. Parents were shocked at our back to school night when my team and I let them know we basically assign no homework (aside from work that isn’t getting finished due to a student choosing to not work) like “what?” Just read. Just read. Please just read!

My kids are at a school that doesn’t do homework. Mostly love it but one of my kids struggles in math and working on the concepts with her at home for extra practice has made all the difference. I think it depends on your kid and their learning style.

I haven't assigned homework in 7 years and my students do just as well in class as the 4 years that I did!!

I only assign reading as homework. Everything else they have time to work on in class. If they choose not to use that time. That’s on them.

I have a few learning differences and in high school I told my math teacher "if homework is practice and a test proves I know it why do I have to practice if I can prove I know it" she said fine I will make your test score your homework score from now on and I passed with a B+ not a single day of homework done I am greatful for understanding teachers

ain't a secret. next parent that asks for home work will get "I don't believe in homework. if you believe your child needs extra, there is always extra available online."

homework is sent home (1st grade), but not required to be returned. it's for practice, but honestly, he just gets frustrated and I get frustrated and it just isn't going to get done.
