Through the relationship with her father to Heathcliffs manipulation and emotional dumping to her marriage out of necessity to Edgar to her death due to childbirth and mental health. As I was going back through the story of Wuthering Heights I couldn’t help but see the parallels to Ethel Cain. A girl in a terrible circumstance, falling in love and wanting to find a way out. Only to be let down by every person around her. The albums in the Ethel Cain ecosystem are absolutely a backdrop to the creation of these pieces. So much content on Wuthering Heights focuses on Heathcliff and how Catherines death affects him and how her ghost is haunting him. I want Catherine’s ghost to feel a little justice and rage. I want her to haunt him, for her, boldly and purposefully. This collection will be available soon in time for spooky season🖤
