I remember being a kid and when you were late on the utility bills, the electric company and the water company would come by knocking on your door. And my parents would always tell me and my sister not to answer the door for anybody specifically them lol. And we would hit the ground and crawl around like we were on a military mission because they would look through the windows to see if anybody was home. I honestly believe that’s where the elder millennials get this from. It’s from the trauma of being poor and the trauma of being at home by ourselves and our parents giving us the specific order. I don’t know if it was like this all over the country, but I grew up in Kentucky and Arkansas and this happened frequently when we were younger.

I was sitting on my porch this afternoon waiting for a package delivery and a solicitor walked up and without even looking up from my phone I said “No thanks. I’m not interested. We don’t talk to solicitors” and went right back to scrolling.
