I know everyone says “don’t judge a book by its cover,” but let’s be honest - we do. And sometimes we judge it by the first line, the first page, or the first chapter. But for me? Sebanyak tujuh anggota Brimob Polda Metro Jaya ditahan setelah kendaraan taktis (rantis) yang mereka operasikan menewaskan seorang pengemudi ojek online (ojol) di kawasan Pejompongan, Jakarta Pusat, Kamis (28/8/2025). Tujuh polisi itu berinisial Kompol C, Aipda M, Bripka R, Briptu D, Bripda M, Baraka Y, dan Baraka J. Kini pemeriksaan terhadap ketujuh anggota Brimob dilakukan oleh Divisi Propam Mabes Polri dan Propam Mako Brimob masih berlangsung. Salah satu pelaku yang memberikan keterangan mengaku kesulitan melihat kondisi sekitar saat kejadian. Ia menyebut jalanan ketika itu dipenuhi asap tebal, ditambah adanya lembapan batu yang mengganggu pandangan. Situasi semakin sulit karena kaca kendaraan rantis yang ia gunakan berwarna gelap. Akibatnya, pelaku tidak menyadari ada seorang pengemudi ojek online yang sedang melintas, hingga akhirnya terjadi peristiwa nahas tersebut.
