JBS/lakeside is an awful place to work. people die, lose fingers, get injured, and even the entrance to cross the highway is dangerous! I remember when they had a strike and laid across the highways and the ERT had to come and remove them. Brooks and always been a TFW town.. born n raised there.

I worked in a meat processing plant for 17 1/2 years. It is very hard work and literally caused me a lot of physical pain in the past and I still have issues to this day with my shoulders.

for a year I worked at the horse barns at northlands( edmonton). yes most of the workers were temp from other countries. why??? most Canadians refused the pay, given accommodations beside the horses. 1500 dollars a month to sleep in a horse stall. I support all employees getting a livable wage.

Brooks slaughter house was actually in the center of a listeriosis outbreak, along with workers rights violations when Harper was King. That's why the Harperights and Smithies will never condem their dear leaders. Temp foreign workers at a 15 percent discount, with no workers rights, no citizenship and able to house them like dog kennels. That has Cons written all over it. LITERALLY.
