Hi everyone, I’m originally from Germany but currently living in Indonesia, in Tangerang, together with my mother. By the end of 2026, I’ll be returning to Germany. It’s been almost a year since I came here, and I’ve truly grown to love Indonesia, it’s such a beautiful country. However, the longer I stay, the more I realize that Indonesia itself is not at fault. The land is rich and the people are warm, but the system makes it appear otherwise. For example, I was shocked to learn that the minimum wage is so low, while the taxes are disproportionately high, it feels unbalanced. Corruption within the government is widespread, yet often hidden from the public eye. Because of this, economic growth is not distributed fairly across the nation. What saddens me most is not just the material impact, but the loss of moral values, empathy, and justice, caused by those who abuse power for their own greed. Still, I want to say, Indonesia is a country worth loving, and I genuinely hope for a better future here. Please, wherever you are, take care of yourselves and stay healthy.🙁❤️
