Boston Cream Poke Cake Ingredients: • 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients called for on box: eggs, oil, water) • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix • 3 cups cold milk • 1 can (16 oz) chocolate frosting Instructions: 1. Bake the cake • Preheat oven according to cake mix directions. • Prepare and bake the yellow cake in a 9x13-inch pan as directed on the box. • When finished, remove from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes. 2. Poke the holes • Using the handle of a wooden spoon (or something similar), poke holes all over the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Make sure the holes go nearly to the bottom of the cake. 3. Make the pudding • In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mixes and cold milk until smooth and slightly thickened (about 2 minutes). • Immediately pour the pudding over the cake, spreading it evenly so it fills all the holes. 4. Chill • Refrigerate the cake for at least 1–2 hours to let the pudding set. 5. Frost • Remove the lid and foil from the chocolate frosting can. Microwave for about 15–20 seconds until it’s pourable but not too hot. • Stir and carefully pour over the chilled cake, spreading it evenly. 6.
