I didn't experience all that. Yeah it wasn't home but not that bad. You will get what you put into it. The noise and midrat raviolis weren't great but I survived and visited Greece, France and many places for free. So it's what you make it.

The worse thing I experienced on the Nimitz during WESTPAC 2005 was that someone kept throwing glow stick in the water, and the man overboard alarms constantly going off. The captain threatened to keelhaul 🤣

Serious question... Are there any Sailors that live on the ship 24/7? I know married Sailors, Chiefs and Most Officers probably have on base or off base housing. BUT, are there separate barracks on base for junior sailors, or is the boat their barracks even when at home port?
