I know you know this, but let me say it anyway; you know that relationships aren't like buying a new car. You don’t get to shop, pick one, buy it and its everything you hoped for. With people, we meet, we become attracted. We spend time (months, years) getting to know that person. During that time we unpeel layers upon layers, we get to know this person deeply. We learn what’s truly important to each other, not by words but by choices, actions and behaviours. We hit some ruts and get to see how this person reacts. We make mistakes and get to learn whether they take accountability or seek to blame. We adapt, we learn how to accommodate, we grow. Our feelings either grow or they fade. THEIR feelings either grow or fade as they observe and feel us too. Somewhere on this journey, if feelings fade, we sometimes become an option, a back up plan or an ex. Unfortunately, we don't know this at the beginning and the only way we found out, is to put ourselves out there, be selective, but start the journey. I wish YOU happiness and an amazing journey. Don't deny your future happiness cause perfection appears impossible to find.
