@kendramnoble: Every afternoon when the bus pulls up, there’s a distinct sound as the emergency back door opens—that’s how we get her wheelchair off the bus. To most people, it’s just a routine noise. But to my sweet girl with non accidentall brain injuries which resulted in non ambulatory cerebral palsy, it’s something so much more. She lights up at that sound. She knows she is home and looks up in anticipation of one of us to get her out of her seat. That little reaction shows patterned thought, recognition, and her mind making connections. It’s proof of her incredible cognition and growth—her way of telling us she understands what’s happening next. What might look small to the outside world is a huge victory for us. These are the moments we celebrate—the tiny sounds, the subtle reactions—that remind us progress doesn’t always shout, but it speaks loudly to our hearts.
