I’m always obsessed when you incorporate food like fruit and veggies into your arrangements. And the element of surprise, like a style roulette where you don’t know which theme you’ll get, just takes it to another level! Maybe hosting the event alongside a restaurant ?

There’s this movie event in London that feeds you the food that they’re eating in the movie at the same time. What if it was like a chatty movie night and you make multiple arrangements throughout based on what’s happening in the movie. Are there any movies with a lot of flowers? lol or maybe album listening party and arrangement inspired by the music

What about combining flowers & fabrics? Where the fabrics can be sculpted as flowers or wrapped around stems. You can also use felt? I think the contrast would be beautiful and something that would last with your guests

Playing with Seasons would be interesting. Either taking one flower through seasons or having groups divided into seasons (summer, fall, etc.). You can explore flower seasonality (for lack of a better word) and what makes something a “springy” bouquet vs a fall bouquet

it’d be cool to do an ikebana workshop and learn the history/significance! you could also pair it with a matcha lesson/tasting or something similar…?

I think something non traditional would be good as a standard arrangement u could just reference your boom or a YT, maybe ikebana or using indigenous plants flowers that has a layer of learning and connection. Plus a cool setting and sensory collab like coffee/DJ or something to compliment the idea.

Give backs are meaningful. We could partner with local charity/hospital/retirement home and all go visit after and donate our blooms and spend time/ food snacks.

Fav workshop I’ve ever done was a styled table with arrangements, vegetables and an install. Then we went home got cleaned and ate a multi course meal within it. Very special as a florist who never gets to go to events!

You could do something that highlights your roots or people’s roots, get a array of different types of flowers, do a bloom bar of sorts and people can pick/choose flowers based on their cultural backgrounds, roots, etc, you could do conversational cards, create dialogue through it and have a little mixer at the end, a coffee and matcha cart or tea cart - could be called “Florecer Juntas (bloom together)” ✨

The art of tablescaping with grocery store materials. Everyone pays whatever amount you choose and you all go to the grocery store and you assign a theme to everyone and purchase things with them and then walk them through the process. Could be fruits only, breads, cheeses, marinara, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, with added flowers. Anything the average person could get their hands on that’s artful without feeling like they need to be a professional!

Get a spiritual healer and do a group exercise that abstracts something like their childhood light or highest self and then everyone makes a bouquet that expresses it

I think it depends on what your audience goal is. I personally appreciate paying for a workshop and walking away with knowledge. Whether or not I walk away with something to take home doesn’t mean much to me. To echo a comment about learning installs, that would be so cool cuz many ppl don’t know how to start or the right materials to use. But I do understand most people go to workshops for fun like with friends/hanging out and most aren’t aspiring florists. If you prefer that route I think hosting an arrangement challenge is fun. You can do different themes like best color palette etc. Can even add on things like “flowers + matcha challenge” and pair up with a local vendor.

Honestly an install is amazing. Like a large scale or a ceiling install. As a florist love to see the behind the scenes and learning how to recreate on my own. If you get a professional photographer to volunteer their service the students can go home with professional photos for their portfolios. An install with mirrors/silver will definitely be a trend.
