File with the health department let them know about the mold now ! keep email , text , photos evidence anything you have keep it . The health department will contact the owner of the building and have them fix it which is bit hard for mold so possibly new unit . If they still do not fix the issue take them to court you’d 100% win

Prior residential management here (Tx) - if they won’t do it, you should be able to hire someone for the testing and submit for reimbursement IF mold is found and then they have to remedy it. They are going to downplay it and will refuse to use the word mold. Mildew or buildup is always the go to.

Report your property management company to the BBB! It’s an easy form online! My friend just did a couple weeks ago for similar stuff and property manager had to reply directly from her wedding in Spain!

I cc our cities code enforcement and alderman on all communication with the leasing company now because they wouldn’t answer maintenance emails. They’re answered now. 🙃

former apartment maintenance tech here notify the city. forces them to take REAL action. properly treating mold isn't difficult or "organic growth" as they likely call it cuz the M word is scary. any decent property keeps a remediation log to cya in case a suit is brought
