The incident occurred on August 20 near Government Pier in Marinette, Wisconsin, where first responders recovered Jakob from the Menominee River and performed CPR for 45 minutes before regaining a heartbeat. He was transferred to a hospital in Green Bay, where he was later declared brain dead and removed from life support on Saturday, August 23rd. The 21-year-old suspect, Tylor Birch, is being charged with second-degree reckless homicide.
