Brand deals have been around for years and content creators have many big money from them. Why is this a big deal now? But, if your objective is misinformation (product, service or political) then they are wrong for doing it. I will only promote a product that I use and like. I don’t have to love it but I’ll still say what’s good and bad about it.

No one is upset they’re getting paid. It’s about the disclosure. It’s, at best, against CGV on TikTok and, at worst, illegal. When it comes to political content, it’s required to be disclosed. It’s different than your brand deals because your brand deals didn’t tell you you weren’t allowed to say you were being paid. They also didn’t tell you what you are and aren’t allowed to say.
