The problem wirh mental health screenings is that they don't work unless the person is in a psychiatric episode. Also you cant follow up without a registry

what r u talking about most crimes involving a gun are by someone that didnt get that weapon legally look it up...I know gun owners and all of them are extremely safe with there guns..a friend of mine actually ask me to hold on to his for a little because he started feeling suicidal from what was going on with his life and after we got PROFESSIONAL approval he was ok we gave it back been fine ever sense...sounds like a safe gun owner to me dont u think

we are already very strict on firearms. That’s not the issue. The issue is mental illness. An individual that’s mentally ill. There getting the firearms illegally. 100% you think crack heads or someone talking about shooting someone can go buy a gun all Willy nilly at the gun shop or gun show big giant no. They’d have to act normal for 1.An even then that’s slim. The government is pushing this that’s why they don’t put armed guards at the schools. Because school shootings boost support on gun control. Exactly what the government wants.

Operative terms “this type of crime”. Remember the Molotov cocktail guy from Boulder city, Colorado who burned people alive in pubic. He was denied a firearm before he did that. I can’t get behind more restrictions than what we already have, but if we do, the people who can pass those restrictions should get a firearm for personal defense as soon as they can get them before they’re in a position where they need one because all the steps this creator outlined takes a lot of time to complete and some people don’t have that time.
