I wasn't allowed to drive myself to work in a dv relationship. He would come and get me for lunch everyone thought he was so sweet. Nope I was never trusted while he was cheating.

I worked at a local crisis center, and the beurocrats approving grants were old white men. when I had to run in that building because my husband had busted my nose and mouth walking by it, those men looked like they were the ones punched. the center got the grants, plus extra funding.

I met my current husband at work we were best friends he hated my ex I was still married to att when I finally ran in the middle of the night from my dv abuser he didn't notice I didn't come home for about a week from on a binder. when he came up to my work which was mainly males. all were over 6ft tall (he was 5'5) all blocked his way into the warehouse. they took turns leting me crash with them until he got the hint I want coming home

I lost my sister to DV. (I’m also not that Heather). I lost a friend a few years before that and I hold the church we went to partially culpable for giving her the “pray for your heart to change” advice I also got.

I had to fight hard to get Texas crime victims compensation to take me. They saved my life by helping me get away, but the protective order? They were supposed to tell me before he left Jail. I found out by him pointing a shotg** at my face through my back glass. He was gone before cops showed and they didn’t arrest him because I said he had to be on scene
