Alpha Thalassemia here. I spent to much time arguing with folks on the infusion center 🙄 😒 💯💯💯 You got 1 time to try and get my vein and you gotta prove you got it and I still might not let you stick me. My insurance won't let me get a port till they prove it's necessary 😒. My last round of infusions was 6 visits twice a week. I literally have ptsd about the needles. Infusion takes 15mins. smh

My mama is a former nurse who has spent half my life in a hospital bed and unless I’m there to advocate, they will NOT listen to her where to best stick her to avoid blowouts. And I know that this area is SO much more stressful and unwarranted for Black patients, especially Black women. You deserve to be heard and listened to, YOU know your body more than anyone else in that building!
