@collinxchina: Replying to @noname75pt property tax in China 🇨🇳 vs the United States 🇺🇸 #CollinXChina #TheMIC #MadeInChinaPodcast #LifeInChina #HangzhouBased
The Chinese Government is serving their people, My admiration for the Chinese Government is their successful effort in reducing real poverty. The key is there has no property taxes in China, so the old senior still hold their house. 92% Chinese own homes. No property tax. I love my parent’s Motherland in China! Well done China. Government should always serve and help the people not to rule over them!👏❤️

Is it true that you don’t own your property in China? You can only use it for 80 years?

Just good luck with your property actually being built. And don’t use the bridges, trust me Chinese bridges no bueno. People had to move into properties that were unfinished because the contractors stopped building and people were still paying 🤦🏻♂️

It’s not even a ‘property’ tax it is a stamp tax that officially confirms you as the owner of the property.

If ownership is contingent upon making regular payments, it’s not a property.

So obviously we’ve been trained in the West to correlate property taxes with paying for police, fire, schools, services, etc. How does the Chinese system pay for these services ?

Hello just wondering Regarding vehicle regulations in China, could you please clarify whether annual registration fees and / or emissions testing are required, similar to the practices in the United States?

For example, a $400,000 home in New Jersey would incur an average annual property tax bill of approximately $8,920. For example, a $400,000 home. Over the course of a 30 year mortgage that's $267,600.00. The property tax can be much higher than 50k depending on the state and tax rates, also the valuation of the home. The tax continues after the home is paid off, so it can be more than the original value of the home.

Chinese here, it's true. I paid a one time tax when I bought the house then this house is mine for 70 years. I don't understand why you have to keep paying for the things you already bought? Like for real, you bought a gum you don't pay tex for have this gum, right?😳

Genuine question about the US for clarification...
If you own a house (and a land) after paying for it, does it mean that it will belong to you and your descendants forever, unless you or they sell it? Does it also mean that you can do whatever you want in your own land?
In some European countries, you can't automatically transfer your property to your descendants without paying some taxes or you can't build whatever you want on your land without some authorizations, so it can't be said that you really "own" your land and factually, I don't see any difference with China...
