“Thoughts and prayers” they were literally in a church. Praying. We need action, not reflection

Quick to do something about Laken Riley but never will do anything for the evil humans who do these tragedies. This is insane.

We need logical and stricter gun laws and acknowledge mental health.

people keep talking about gun control but fail to realize a few things...Minnesota has some of the strictest gun laws, and CRIMINALS 👏🏻 DO 👏🏻 NOT 👏🏻 FOLLOW 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 LAW. They will always find a way to get one, but taking away our guns takes away the ability for us to defend ourselves AND YOU. this is a mental health crisis and this is what happens when you affirm and celebrate mental illness and when our BULLSHIT governor literally calls for violence.

But it’s a constitutional right to be able to walk into a store and buy one of these? Self defense? What a joke of a country. The United States is closer to a third world country than a first world country. Absolute cowards

Countries with universal health care systems (Australia, Canada, Japan, and EU nations) generally have significantly lower rates of gun violence and gun deaths compared to the United States. Stop saying it’s a “mental health issue” - then providing NO semblance of accessible mental health care for ALL who need it!!! Some people need grippy socks - NOT glocks!

children…children were targeted. what a cruel world we live in, I wish mental issues were not pressed onto these individuals who grow up sick. I wish individuals who had severe mental issues got the help they needed and not glass walking parents. So much for the “safe zone” gen.

When listening to Trey Gowdy, it becomes clear why some white individuals may find it challenging to grasp the complexities surrounding school shootings. His emphasis on the need to “identify the threat ahead of time or keep the weapon out of their hands” raises an important question: Is this the most effective solution?
This approach seems to assume that we need to recognize and accept potential violence in young white individuals while ensuring they do not have access to dangerous weapons.
The discussion often revolves around the balance of “freedom vs. protecting children,” particularly white children. This highlights a broader issue—prioritizing gun rights over the emotional well-being of children. It’s understandable why the severity of school shootings can be overlooked in some underprivileged communities. When a white shooter attacked the Mother Emanuel AME Church in South Carolina, there was no widespread outcry asking, “How could this happen in our neighborhood?” It was clear that hate was the driving force behind that tragedy.
However, these incidents affect both white and non-white individuals, particularly those who identify with the white community. It is imperative that we address this issue.
The cycle of violence seems never-ending, as discussions around these topics often repeat without leading to real solutions. Additionally, when we engage in conversations about politics and religion, we should shift our focus from divisive issues to prioritizing the well-being of children. There is a heavy emphasis on weapons, yet how often do we take the time to show love and support for our kids?
This lack of emotional connection can lead children to feel unheard or unloved, which can have serious consequences. Ultimately, we should all share a fundamental understanding of right and wrong that transcends political or religious divides.
Thank you for considering this perspective. Best regards. 😊
