@thebunniesoftheburrow: Wilfred Toadflax was desexed today (yes I named them all as babies before I knew who was who lol). We’re aiming to get one other girl done today but they are still too small so we will wait a few more months. There’s no chance of reproducing as the only boy is desexed and the girls mature later than domestic bunnies, but I want to make sure we get the girls done before their hormones get too strong and they start fighting, so they can stay together as a group. We did this with a group of five wilding siblings and it worked really well. They’re very different to domestic rabbits where you have to pretty much always have to split up once they reach 3-6months or they fight, then rebond. Wildings seem to be much more of a ‘clan’ with a strong life bond. But even so, hormones can rock the best of relationships.
