Our two year old handles both languages equally well. She goes to an international creche that works in both languages and at home she associates Mum with Polish and me with English. Kids just absorb it

have you tried the one patent one language method? I speak 2 languages, 3 if you count barnsley dialect i'm currently learning...and that can make it much easier, as she is likely not confused but rather unsure who to speak to in what language.

I think best way for baby Mia will be if you speak with her English and Natalia speak only in Polish. My friend’s baby is half Polish and half Latvian. His dad speak with him English (nobody knows why 😅) and his mum use only Polish. Kiddo understand Polish very well, but somethimes answer English, guess it’s easier for him.

If you speak with her English and Natalia speaks Polish will be good then. She will not be confused. Just need more time sometimes. That is absolutely normal for bilingualism. Our family is bilingual as well.

my boy is 9, we tried to teach him Romanian from little. I am Romanian, father English...it didn't work for us, he only speaks English and knows only words in Ro. Having lots of Polish friends and visiting Poland often would help her learning Polish , it's not only about learning words,it's about being able to formulate proper sentences with the right grammatical gender,time,singular-pluaral...etc. Not as easy as it sounds. Mia will learn English easy as she lives in England, Polish it's another matter.You're a beautiful family ...🥰

My daughter is half Polish and half Portuguese and she’s definitely more into English language, it’s much easier for her than Polish… but now she’s almost 5 years old and she’s speaking Polish better and better but still choosing English over Polish 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🔥
