@ur.japan.guide.ak: Wakayama Prefecture is south of Osaka. It is a region where about 81% of the land is mountainous, with a range of peaks around 1,000 meters in elevation. Rich in forests.Visitors can enjoy trekking and hiking along the Kumano Kodo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as relaxing forest bathing. ① Shirahama Town – A famous seaside resort known for its hot springs and beautiful white sand beach. ② Nachi Waterfall – Japan’s tallest single-drop waterfall, surrounded by spiritual sites. ③ Adventure World – A popular theme park with zoo, including fun attractions. ④ Toretore Market – A lively seafood market where you can taste fresh fish and local specialties. ⑤ Senjojiki – Dramatic rock formations shaped by ocean waves along the coast. ⑥ Wakayama Castle – A historic castle offering panoramic views of the city. ⑦ Kumano Kodo – An ancient pilgrimage trail and UNESCO World Heritage site. There are several routes along the Kumano Kodo, ranging from beginner-friendly trails to advanced courses. check them out! ⑧ Maruyama Senmaida – A picturesque area of terraced rice fields, changing beautifully with the seasons. Technically it’s not in the Wakayama prefecture ⑨ Kongobu-ji Temple – The head temple of Shingon Buddhism, featuring stunning gardens and history. ⑩ Kumano Boat River Cruise – A traditional boat ride offering scenic views of the Kumano River. ⑪ Kumano Hayatama Taisha – Another of the three Kumano grand shrines, located in Shingu. ⑫ Kumano Hongu Taisha – One of the three grand shrines of Kumano, deeply tied to Japanese spirituality. #osaka #osakajapan #japanesefood #japantraveltips #japantravel

I used to live in Wakayama, specifically in Gobo, and I’ve actually been to all the places you posted except the Kumano River cruise😢. Your photos bring back great memories! 😔😔You might also want to include Washigamine Cosmos Park and Oishi Kogen Highland, they’re beautiful spots too. 🌸⛰️
