I’m excited and hopeful that the 4K Criterion Collection restoration gets a release (hopefully) on Blu-Ray. It’s a great movie, definitely in my top 10 favourite movies of all time, and the songs are amazing! Do Bigha Zamin (1953), Devdas (1955), Madhumati (1958), and Bandini (1963) are all part of a Criterion Collection restoration

Madhumati and Mahal are the 2 best horror movies in bollywood. Plus Bimal Roy was a phenomenal director, all his movies are outstanding.

Thanks for another great recommendation. Just a few months back my sister and I were trying to recall which film inspired On Shanti Om, particularly the climax, I kept saying Karz and she insisted it was an older Madhubala film... now I can finally call her up and simply say "It was Vijantimala's film Madhumati" and hang up 😂
