There is more to this story than "All we've done is remove the bolt and it's stripped the threads" ....there is absolutely no thread left! .. I'm sure it'll be a good repair though

fair play to you,.on explaining that fix instead of the usual, "the whole arm needs to be replaced at a €1000 euro plus labour".
The Irish "Ed China"
He told it as it is and wasn't popular by the Industry for doing things like planing down brake discs instead of replacing when there was still enough meat left on them etc.
Enjoy the videos immensely!
Very informative!

This happened mine but was somewhere around the Timing belt when it was being change. Threads were worn on some casing that was in front of the jeep? poor mechanic was in an awful state that he wouldnt have it back in time.Top Service tho. He didn't give up till he sorted it. Gave him a bar a chocolate and half my bank account lol

your best guess is why this thread stripped and not the other one ??

Will Maguire :
obviously didn't support the spring while removing the bolt and the strain pulled the threads that doesn't just happen if the bolt is taken put properly

Steel bolt into aluminium cause corrosion and virtually welds the part together the garage is only using its tools to remove the customers part that needs replacing so the customer pays for the repair
