I’ve seen about 3 banks of these around the northwest motorway network, usually 6 or 8 of them, next to M61, m6 at haydock and on the m65.

Used to do electrical work on these sets, huge HV Cummings engine massive container with lots of controls ect to run it all, remember commissioning engineer asking me to spray the ‘easy start’ to get it started hahahah what a raor it made under full load test

We have three Jenbacher V20 gas engines, two 1kw and a 1.5kw, running on biomethane. They don’t really sound good 😂 just dull continuous droning 24/7 all year round. Nearly 90k hours on the smaller pair now!

Biggest I’ve seen is DRUPS units at data centres. 60litre diesel engines, 14 of them. Soo loud when they kick in.
