while cliffs tone is great isolated on RTL and MOP it's also just not great for mixing because he doesnt use much treble and instead uses alot of mids so he gets buried under the guitar. He's best heard on kill em all because the rickenbacker gives the extra clank and standout. I think he also played the sun beta amp which were monsters

a good bass player compliments the rhythm section by following and playing with the drums, on Jason's first album he played exactly what James did and did not stand out, and he wouldn't even if the mix was higher in and justice for all

Could have backed off some of the distortion for clarity. Bring it up in the mix. Def tighter takes. Probably did this once or twice.

I mean yeah creeping death’s bass line is really good but i think there are crazier ones, like fight fire with fire, ktulu, or even ride the lightning
