@iowastartingline: The EPA removed Iowa drinking water sources from a list of impaired waterways, but not because the water quality got any better. 🎥: @Chase
It’s wild to because I’ve seen proven farming techniques disappear over the last couple of years too, I keep seeing buffer zones and crop rotation disappearing in favor for heavier fertilizer usage. We know it’s causing the skyrocketing cancer rates. But as always money comes first especially with all the corn and soybean subsidies that pushed out our once diverse farming culture and practices

Love all your reporting!! Thanks for keeping me in the know. My Dad and a lot of my family live in Iowa and are clueless about these topics. Makes me so sad.

RIP William Stowe who tried unsuccessfully to get the corporate farms in northern Iowa to stop dumping into our rivers.

It’s like the republicans don’t understand (or don’t care) that the economy will suffer if the water gives you cancer

We are so toast. I really am trying to convince myself I can stay in Iowa but the more reporting I see on this the more I’m convinced it’s time to leave

theres no debate on the level, the current standard was set decades ago and doesn't take in to account for new research

I bought a reverse osmosis machine. I no longer cook, drink or give our pets water out of the tap. When we camp I fill up jugs from it.

I live in rural Butler County. I have a well for water. I had it tested 20 yrs ago. It was 5 on the nitrates. I'm wondering how much worse it has gotton? In that 20 yrs a hog confinement has gone up in the area & a big dairy farm.
