@cbsnews: An 8-year-old boy leapt from a second-floor window into the arms of first responders as they subdued smoke and flames pouring from his residence. Video shows the officers pleading with the child to jump to them, assuring him, “We got you, just jump!” The boy then leaped from the window and was caught by Officer Dewitt Bacon, Officer John Walsh, and local resident Joseph Dunbar. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and further evaluation. The Asbury Park Fire Department successfully extinguished the blaze, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
