After briefly living with relatives in Attleboro, Massachusetts, she moved in with her new boyfriend, 22-year-old Gregory Groom, against her sisters' advice. Though her social media depicted a happy relationship, Kylee was eventually kicked out of Groom’s home and sought refuge at a shelter for pregnant women called Bethesda House. Her sisters said she was expelled from the shelter after missing a meeting due to a medical emergency related to her pregnancy. The shelter later returned her to Groom’s home, where she was tragically killed. Groom now faces murder charges. The shelter’s co-founders stated Kylee had multiple chances to comply with rules and that no domestic violence signs were reported. Kylee’s sisters believe the shelter bears some responsibility and are now working to raise awareness about the often-hidden signs of domestic abuse and the challenges vulnerable women face in seeking help, especially within rigid systems and without adequate healthcare access. #truecrime
