@therapistinrecovery: Love when new science corroborates my work as a therapist 🤗✨ just another reminder that the more we focus on what’s going on outside of our internal world; the more we LIVE our values as presently as possible, the more likely it is that our anxiety naturally goes away!! Don’t believe me, try it! #anxietytherapist #paradox #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #rumination #anxietytok
My therapist once told me that the girl I am in my happiest memories, when I felt the best, was not in my head and just focused on the moment is the truest version of myself and those moments are where my values are. My OCD loves telling me that the depressed and overthinking me is the real me which is a LIE!!!

I think this is what I’m struggling with the most. “Is this ocd” “is this anxiety” so much self monitoring. I really need my therapist to help me with this, getting out of my head.

A lot of the time I focus on how much guilt I have and that I need to confess!! I don’t deserve things to go good. My OCD tells me I’m hiding things. I focus on the constant state of anxiety!!

I spent so so much of my life not in the moment. I think this idea was probably one of the most helpful and rewarding tools in my recovery. It takes practice but it’s like getting a second chance at life. It’s so beautiful.

I love this!!! So so true, when you have anxiety all you do is think about yourself and how you’re feeling at every moment

This is a very interesting take! But how we do we stop trying to figure it all out or fixing every problem including others?

ignoring my anxiety feels irresponsible like i’m just not paying attention to things that need to be worked on. does that make sense?

Hi Rachael! I really appreciate your content. Been following for a while now. Any chance you’ve seen the movie Pure O on Prime? Curious to hear your take on the person who was diagnosed with OCD, his therapist, and in particular the helpfulness of the group therapy sessions XO
