No matter how small the “test” is, you’re still going to want to do a great job, right? The objective here is to get the gig. You’re going to put the same amount of creative energy into conceptualization and preproduction that you would for the real thing. So the answer is “absolutely, here’s my quote for the test pass.” That being said, in those scenarios I prefer to explain that that’s what our preproduction stage is for. We won’t go into production until we’re all on the same page creatively. They can save some of their budget by just getting started on this thing now.
