@cbcedmonton: The union representing Alberta teachers have walked away from talks with school board representatives, but classes will go ahead next week as planned. CBC's Travis McEwan breaks down the lastest from the province and the union. #teachers #strike #alberta #government
I have 51 kindergarten students. U can not give the time each one needs. We do not get paid to strike. We loose pay fighting for our students. It is worth it. Shame on UCP.

Where would you even put 3000 new teachers when schools are splitting at the seam?

Teachers are overpay and underworked. TAS need a big raise, not teachers.

This teachers union only cares about teachers salaries. 🙄 EVERYTHING else is smoke and Mirrors. Just like every single time the teachers strike & threaten to strike.

2,279 schools in Alberta. “3,000 new teachers” would average to 1.3 more teachers per school. That is *not* going to make a “huge difference.”

So who should determine the best interests of the education system? The government or the union leaders (which are all either active teachers or former teachers). I'd say the ATA should be the one to determine that...
