first time a woman crossed the street to avoid me, it was gender affirming but also crushing. and also I wished I could have crossed the street first to make her feel safe, but I didn't anticipate I'd be perceived as a man yet.

Yeah the ladies perceiving us as threats like all cis men really through me off when it first happened. It also made me realize I couldn’t even be as friendly because it was thought of as flirting when I was just being nice.
