since the railroad itself doesn't allow for high speed travel, the US will have to wait for California to finish their HSR before we can officially say that we have HSR

USB-A is actually a very good thing. USB-C = having no USB at all. Type C just isn’t durable enough to handle daily use over years, type C ports on public transportation almost never work in my experience. I also have a deeply rooted hatred for USB type C and the damage it’s done to the industry.
