@blueacregarden: Well, you can’t always prune your macro hydrangeas, you can always deadhead them! This is when and how you can deadhead your hydrangeas and why you might want to do it. #Gardening #GardeningOne01 #GardeningForBeginners #hydrangeas

If you prune the entire bush now what would the blooms look like for next year? Would you have none, maybe a few?

How do you know that the third leaf down is the leaf node? And not the first one?

Can you (or should you) cover your hydrangea plants in the winter to protect them from winter but mostly from ruthless deer? I’m in zone 6a and the deer in my neighborhood will destroy them over the winter. I have a hard enough time during growing season keeping them away from

In the spring time, is it necessary to prune the witches broom on the hydrangea plants or can I just deadhead them each year?

I’m in TX and I planted in partial sun to keep it from burning. The leaves are light green to bright green. What causes the light almost white leaves?

Is it too late to make arrangements for the winter then? Likely right? Because i would be cutting too long of a stem in order to make a pretty vase arrangement…. We’re only able to deadhead the flower portion right now? Rats, I missed my window! My hydrangeas are new this year so I didn’t want to take away the blooms mid summer since they aren’t mature yet and i wanted to enjoy the blooms they DID have for as long as possible! But now they’re the perfect beautiful color (I’m in CT too, they’ve turned burgundy 😍), but I probably shouldn’t touch them!??
