I promise this is not to be weird but I LOVE how it sounds when hands thud books. Like it’s so soothing. But I agree the cartoonish covers annoy me.

I don't know if it's the autism in me, but I can't tell any of the Romantasy trending covers apart. I literally can't keep track of what is what, and what I've read, so I've just stopped reading them. 🤷♀️

I don’t really care about cover art, but it absolutely does have an influence on whether I might buy a book. But that’s mostly because these covers usually are indicative of genre/ general vibes. Like I’m not buying cartoon covers because I’m not into romance books. On the other hand if you have a gorgeous cover I might notice. Most recent example is these covers of the southern Reach Series. I rebought the entire set for the covers. I never do that.
