Can I get you compare this to the music industry? Like when an independent artist signs a contract with a major label. Yes there are huge artists that have built large followings for themselves with zero representation, but they are the anomaly are they not? I know it may be apples to oranges, but the stakes are so much higher on the politics front.

You realize these things have already been set for the conservative machine years ago right? Charlie Kirk, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, they all have their own similar 1630s to combat like this. And you’re upset because Chorus funds creators who are also mostly against the idea of 1630s through 1630s, you’re literally providing the conservatives with more wins because you’re putting stupid one issue ideals over winning. Trying to grassroots it is a great thing. However, in a world with Citizens United how can you even think that it’s doable? I’m tired of seeing people play by the morality rules when the other side refuses and doesn’t have to. I would love for grassroots movements to be the way, but that’s not the reality we live in.

I am usually 100 percent behind most of your takes but not this one lol. it's not that she reported it. its how she reported it. she reported it in a way that gives fuel to the leftists in the leftist vs liberal bullshit that is always going on in the left. sowing discord on the left is not the play that needs to be happening right now. all of that being said my reason for feeling this way is because people are gullible. especially people who are chronically online. I mean if you are fine with ripping the left wing apart for the sake of "the truth" which is far from what she put in that story. she left it just vague enough that people could draw their own conclusions from it. and due to her past relationships and comments I would assume the narrative she wanted to paint is that aipac is funding 1630. but none of that matters. the story in general just furthers the division on the left and could cause more conspiracy minded people to go deeper into their rabbit holes.

The discourse surrounding this is not done anything beneficial. "exposing" these creators has not benefited anyone. their messaging never changed there was no manipulation to their messaging or control of their messaging so I would need somebody to very succinctly tell me why I should care that they got paid. If they're messaging didn't change, if there was no control over their messaging, why do I care that they got paid?
