Thank you for this, you made me cry this morning. I am a CA native and use y’all daily, and have since I was a child even through the funny looks. I spent summers as a kid with my southern relatives. One of them made sure I had enough of the south in me that I love cornbread, sweet tea, and the Carolina shore, but filtered out the racism and prejudice. I had someone who loved me enough to give me the culture minus the hate, we need more of that in 2025 and you just embodied that for me and I appreciate the reminder. 💜
