Master :
I’m sorry to hear what’s going on in Indonesia right now. We in the Philippines are facing the same struggles—flood control projects costing trillions, yet the people still suffer, the streets still drown, and the poor are left to carry the heaviest burden. Contractors and government officials take the funds, making long lists of projects only on paper. They create audits showing they purchased materials, while in truth everything was kept in their pockets—nothing was truly done. They keep showing papers that projects are made, when in reality there never was—no pictures, no videos, no real proof of any project completed. While we suffer from floods, the media keeps saying how strong we are because we can still smile despite the hardships. No—we don’t. That’s only the image they want to show the world, to pretend we are resilient, to show the world how strong we are. But the truth is, we are tired. Honestly, we don’t deserve this, and we don’t have to endure this. The saddest part is that we Filipinos can’t do anything about it—years of corruption have made us grow to adapt to this, to get used to it, to normalize the suffering. That’s why I’m so proud of Indonesia, for refusing to stay silent, for standing up and demanding change. We Filipinos also need to do the same. We don’t deserve the bare minimum—we deserve fairness, justice, accountability, and a government that truly works for the people. God bless you, Indonesia—never lose hope, never give up. As long as we remain united, justice will find its way.
