Paul Mashatile’s sudden display of piety, attending church hand-in-hand with his wife, is nothing but a mockery of faith and an insult to South Africans. This is the same man dogged by corruption scandals, luxury lifestyle exposés, and questions about how he amassed his wealth while ordinary people are trapped in poverty. To see him in the front pew, pretending to be a humble servant, is theatre of the most grotesque kind. It is not worship its damage control. Politicians like Mashatile exploit the vulnerability of congregations, banking on the idea that quoting a scripture or bowing their head in prayer can bleach out years of greed, betrayal, and self-enrichment. Faith is sacred, but when hijacked by career politicians who loot by Monday and repent by Sunday, it becomes nothing more than a stage set for hypocrisy. The sad part is not that Mashatile does this but that he knows many will fall for it. Woza 2026 so that we remove these lying thugs 😏
