Philly’s finest the Honest Band, was a group of musicians who formed after returning from Vietnam. They were a soul/funk group incorporating elements of rock. They were signed to April One Records and sadly the labels owner passed in a tragic auto accident involving a train. With no label behind them, the groups recordings were shelved and were never officially released. The group disbanded without a trace. Family members of the label owner fought for years to gain control of the company but a judge forced the sale of the assets to offset outstanding debts. The master tapes were bundled and were stored in a warehouse in Germany by the subsidiary company who bought the assets. Fast forward to 1981 and an intern was cataloging the tapes and was curious by the band name and listened to the tapes. By some chance the tapes made its way to Scorpions singer Klaus Meine who listened to them along with Rudolf Schenker during a recording session for the Blackout album. Meine rewrote some lyrics and the rest is his-story. Some will argue that this is all made up, they would be correct. The music is A.I. and created by some Brazilian dude on YouTube, I just added the Soul Train dancing to give it a period correct visual, the band’s story was made up by yours truly. If you are upset by fictional band, but don’t get upset at mainstream superhero films then the problem lies with you. You clearly enjoy fantasy stories, but not fantasy musical stories. There will be more fake music posted regularly.
