SO much of my debt is from fixing an old beater car I bought outright for my first car. that is entirely why I dont subscribe to the "buy the cheapest car you can find to save money" idea anymore.

I fear this mindset is going to keep you in debt. It’s not something to be shameful about but it’s also not an inevitable way of life and I promise things are a lot more relaxing on the other side

We aren’t in debt, and it is slightly annoying when people think we can only go on vacation because we are in debt for it. But it is different for everyone and debt doesn’t make you a bad person. Just what you are willing to accept as a risk.

No debt here besides the 1.9% rate on my house. I have over 800k in my retirement plans at age 40. Trick is to not fall for lifestyle creep, pretend you’re way poorer than you actually are.

We only have mortgage debt and just had to get a car but we have no other debt! But I see so many redoing their house, going on massive vacations and I’m like they have to be in so much debt! I need new kitchen floors bc our puppy ruined our 20 year old flooring and I’m not fixing it but others are buying boats! I always have to tell myself I’m not in debt!
